This is a soldier wearing a powered exoskeleton. The exoskeleton mounts a heavy machine gun and a chainsaw, allowing it to cut through flesh and iron alike. As far as defense goes, the Assault Trooper combines the small target posed by an infantryman with the heavy weaponry and armor of a light tank, combining thus the defensive capacities of both infantry and tank and making him resistant both to small arms fire and armor-piercing shells.
Over time, the Assault Armor begins to connect to the pilot's body, so that Elite Assault Armor troopers, who have spent extended time interfacing with the armor are known to become man-machine hybrids, Cyborgs.
